Ellen B. Scripps became a legend in La Jolla through unselfish dedication to the service of others. In 1948 her niece, Nackey Scripps Meanley together with husband Tom and son William established Meanley and Son Hardware dedicated to that same principle of service. After 60 years, the tradition continues under the same Meanley Family, now in partnership with Ace. With gourmet cookware, paint, portable appliances, giftware, light bulbs, tools, electrical & plumbing fittings, cleaning & gardening supplies, and all the widgets, fasteners, glues, and "whatjamacallits" you would expect, it's a hardware store for everyone - visitors, new residents and old-timers alike.
