About The Foundation of La Jolla High School
The Foundation of La Jolla High School was founded in 1983 and is a non-profit, tax exempt, public benefit corporation. The primary purpose of The Foundation is to raise funds for La Jolla High. A secondary purpose is the funding and management of Special Projects which benefit La Jolla High. The need for such funds has increased significantly in recent years as La Jolla High has been experiencing significant public funding cuts. Those cuts threaten faculty and staff positions, the availability of textbooks, supplies, course offerings, and sports, badly needed maintenance and improvements to La Jolla High's physical plant, and other critical elements necessary to provide a well rounded, high quality secondary education. La Jolla High School is the top public high school in San Diego and more than competitive with the premium private high schools. It is ranked as one of the top 100 public high schools in the United States; is a California Distinguished School; and a California AVID School of Distinction. Its graduates are consistently admitted to the most competitive Colleges and Universities in the Country. However, without basic resources, those successes and accomplishments are at risk. The Foundation cannot provide the support La Jolla High School needs without your support. Whether you are a parent or grandparent of a student or future student; or the parent or grandparent of a graduate; or you are an alumnus; or a member of the community who supports academic excellence; we need your help to maintain the academic excellence of La Jolla High School.
