About La Jolla Open Aire Market
The La Jolla Open Aire Market has been a gathering place for the La Jolla Community for over 15 years. But this is no ordinary farmers market. All the proceeds from the market benefit La Jolla Elementary. Sherry Ahern, a La Jolla community activist, and a La Jolla Elementary school mom set out to fund the LJES library in 1996 with a market. In 1998 the first market was held and had 14 farmers and 1 artisan. It has now grown into a weekly community event that has over 150 vendors. Surpassing their original goal, the La Jolla Open Aire Market continues to fund LJES in various programs like art and music, as well as improvements to the school. Sample great weekly vendors and help out the local community at this market.
