The La Jolla Restaurant at the Famous Pink Lady - La Valencia

La Valencia Restaurant and Hotel in La Jolla California

Since 1928, La Jolla's gracious Pink Lady, La Valencia, has been hosting all who walk through its graceful entrance. From movie stars and visitors to local wedding parties and families, La Valencia welcomes all to its rooms overlooking the Pacific and the La Jolla shoreline.

But you don't have to be a guest to enjoy the views and the dining within La Valencia's Spanish-style walls. The hotel is also a popular eating and meeting spot for locals and visitors alike. The hotel's main dining venue The Mediterranean Room is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and for brunch on Sunday mornings. You can sit inside in the main dining area, with views of the ocean, or outside on the friendly patio just inside the front gates. The cuisine includes all flavors of the Mediterranean countries, from Spain, Morocco and Turkey to Greece, Italy and France. Popular breakfast dishes include Mexican eggs and burritos, pumpkin waffles, and lemon ricotta pancakes. The lunch menu includes a variety of appetizers, salads and unusual sandwiches, such as lobster BLT and Cuban slow-roasted pork. Popular dinner items include the risotto with wild mushrooms, braised lamb, short ribs, and the chef's fresh fish of the day. For dessert, enjoy a variety of cheeses, sorbet or gelato, coffee drinks or richer dishes such as passion fruit and vanilla nut cheesecake, chocolate orange truffle mousse, chocolate lava cake, or peach upside-down cake.

La Valencia also hosts a popular happy hour with live entertainment every evening in the La Sala Lobby Lounge. With large windows overlooking the ocean, and cozy, comfortable couches, the lounge is an enjoyable location to sip a cocktail or a glass of wine and catch up with friends at the end of a long day. Sample tasty appetizers such as cured meats and cheese, Mediterranean spreads and house pita bread, warm olives, lobster corndogs, West Coast oysters, grilled calamari with artichoke, organic beets, small salads, natural beef burger, or seared scallops. Enjoy one of La Valencia's specialty cocktails, such as Dark and Stormy (dark run, ginger beer, lime) Roasted Pineapple Margarita, or The Cove (rye, vermouth, and campari).

Be sure to ask about La Valencia's many special La Jolla dining events, including holiday brunches, wine tastings and fundraising dinners.
