Social Service League of La Jolla
The Social Service League of La Jolla is a non profit public benefit corporation that has been maintaining Darlington House since 1968. It was incorporated in 1947 and to date, there are over 150 members volunteering in this La Jolla organization.
The House, named after estate owner, Sibyl Darlington, is a registered historic landmark and a beautiful site for weddings, receptions of all kinds, concerts, parties as well as business and corporate functions. The old world charm of this venue is enhanced by the intimate gardens, flowers, courtyards and fountains in a very private villa setting.
Proceeds from the Darlington House support the League House founded in 1950, where 52 seniors who meet low income, age and health requirements are provided with secure and attractive apartments. An evening meal is provided to each tenant 5 nights a week, along with a safe community based environment provided by the members of the Social Service League.
