Pet Friendly Hotels

It's great to know when you vacation that you can include your canine family members. Dogs are very popular in La Jolla and you and your pet will be in good company as you stroll through La Jolla's streets or along the coastline. Fortunately, many hotels in La Jolla are pet friendly. Some will accommodate cats as well as dogs. Be sure to mention your pet or pets when you make your reservations. Many will welcome your pet with special treats and have water bowls and beds available.

The following list includes pet-friendly hotels in La Jolla:

Empress Hotel on Fay Avenue: Dogs under 30 pounds. $75 one-time fee.

Holiday Inn Express on La Jolla Boulevard: Dogs under 25 pounds. $75 one-time fee.

Hotel La Jolla: All pets as long as they fit through the door. Offers welcome treats, clean-up bags, pet beds, food and water bowls and for extra fees, dog walking and sitting services.

La Jolla Bed and Breakfast Inn: One dog only, under 50 pounds. Check for availability of pet-friendly room, called the Bird Rock Cottage. $50 fee per night.

La Jolla Biltmore on La Jolla Boulevard: Dogs, no weight restrictions. $50 fee.

La Jolla Cove Suites on Coast Boulevard: Dogs under 30 pounds. $25 fee per pet per night.

La Jolla Village Lodge on Silverado Street: Dogs with no weight limit. $20 fee.

La Valencia on Prospect Street: Dogs only. Some weight restrictions. $25 per night.

Scripps Inn on Coast Boulevard: Dogs and cats under 25 pounds. Check for availability of pet-friendly rooms. $50 per pet.

Sheraton La Jolla on Holiday Court: Dogs under 80 pounds. $40 one-time fee.

The following hotels in La Jolla do not accommodate pets, except for service dogs: Best Western by the Sea, Grande Colonial, Hilton Torrey Pines, La Jolla Shores Hotel and the Lodge at Torrey Pines.

If you need to go somewhere for a few hours without your pet while you're on vacation, consider the PetSmart Hotel located in La Jolla Village Square in the UTC area. The hotel offers overnight dog and cat boarding and a doggie day camp, open seven days a week with flexible drop-off and pick-up times. The PetSmart Hotel is adjacent to the PetSmart store, which offers reasonable prices on all pet supplies.
