What’s Happening in San Diego & La Jolla This Weekend: January 27th – 28th

The weather is going to be beautiful, the events are going to be happening, and your friends and family are going to be ready to hang with you. So what are you waiting for? Here’s San Diego and La Jolla weekend events!

Saturday, January 27th:

1 Wave Challenge & Beach Run
7:30 a.m., La Jolla Shores

Surfs up! Surfers are gathering at La Jolla Shores this Saturday. What’s up? They’re going to attempt to break a world record for the most surfers on one wave at a time. Don’t miss being a part of this historic day. Plus, it’s all for a good cause! Participants will be supporting the Boys to Men Mentoring Charity. If you prefer to stay on the shore, the 5K or 5-mile beach run to Torrey Pines is available

San Diego GT Cars & Coffee
8 a.m. to 10 a.m., O’Gara La Jolla Service Center

Do you love cars? Love coffee? Well then you’ll love San Diego’s GT Cars & Coffee event! Luxury cars will be at O’Gar La Jolla on Saturday. The event is free with complimentary coffee, food trucks, and live music.

Lucky Street Vintage Market
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 1722 South Coast Highway #3, OceansideIf you’re a sucker for vintage, you will love Lucky Street Productions vintage marketplace. You’re sure to find just about every style of vintage in this large warehouse filled with treasures. Every Saturday and Sunday!

Sunday, January 28th:

Guided Nature Walk
9:30 a.m., Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center

It’s going to be a beautiful weekend to get outside! Take a free guided 1.5 hour nature walk from Mission Trails Regional Park. Along the way you’ll learn about animals, plants, and history of this park in San Diego.

Tidepooling Adventure
1 p.m. to 3 p.m., La Jolla

Who doesn’t love tidepools? No one. The correct answer is no one. Come explore the tide pools at Dike Rock or False point with Birch Aquarium. All for $16 ($13 for members.) Fun for the whole family!

The Importance of Being Earnest
7 p.m., The Old Globe Theatre
The Old Globe

Theatre proudly presents Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest.” The story follows Jack and Algernon, a pair of bachelors attempting to maintain fictitious personæ to escape burdensome social obligations. Performances run at various times through March 4; with ticket prices varying by day.
