9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Ellen Browning Scripps Park
The renowned auto show returns to the lovely seaside community of La Jolla this weekend. The event runs from Friday through Sunday and features more than 150 rare, painstakingly restored vehicles. These stunning cars will be on display at the La Jolla Cove lawn against the ever magnificent Pacific Ocean backdrop. This year’s car show also includes an aviation show featuring antiquated, restored aircraft that are a must see! In addition, there will be a “champagne and honey tasting garden” where attendees may sample flights of sweet honey from various California regions. If that weren’t enough, live music and a cheese tasting zone top the event off. General admission tickets to Sunday’s party are a bargain at $70 for adults the day of the event, and a generous $30 for military and children ages 11 to 18. Kids 10 and under are admitted absolutely free.
1 p.m., Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines
If you haven’t attended previous events, you won’t want to miss this 18th annual fundraiser! The annual Tea & Tonic benefits the Center for Community Solutions in its quest to back prevention and intervention programs focused on terminating relationship violence, sexual assault and stalking. The worthy cause begins promptly at 1 p.m. at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines. The event includes a charming champagne reception, a high tea service, both live and silent auctions, various raffles and live entertainment. In addition, celebrity keynote speaker, actor and former defensive player in the NFL, Terry Crews will delight attendees. Tickets are $150, with proceeds benefitting the Center for Community Solutions. Get out and be a vital part of this praiseworthy cause!
7:30 p.m. & 9:30 p.m. at The American Comedy Co.
You know David Koechner, right? No? C’mon! He played the role of Champ Kind in the Anchorman movies and has also made various appearances on several TV shows such as The Office, The Goldbergs and American Dad. Oh, now you know David! This weekend comedian David Koechner takes command of the stage at downtown San Diego’s American Comedy Co. David will be headlining two shows each on Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. On Sunday David will do only one show at 7 p.m. (Hey, a man has to pack his bags sometime!) Tickets are a mere $18. Woot! Hey, it’s ever classy San Diego! Don’t miss it!
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., The Flower Fields at Carlsbad
Seeking all San Diego area trend-setters and furry fashionmonger’s! San Diegan’s will want to make a point to peep out the festivities at the barn at The Flower Fields located at Carlsbad Ranch Thursday evening. What’s in store for patrons is a charming night of fashion, foodstuffs, brewski’s and adorable pups. The night consists of designer fashions from Carlsbad Premium Outlets swaggering down a runway complemented by dogs currently up for adoption from the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. All those in attendance will also have the opportunity to be treated to various food and beer tastings. Tickets are $40 per person, well worth it for a great cause for our furry friends.
3 p.m. at Liberty Station
Calling all wine aficionados! The biggest and leading “wine only” tasting occasion blazes into San Diego’s Liberty Station this weekend. Attendees may spend the afternoon savoring virtually hundreds of sunny California’s finest vintage and award-winning wines. In addition, the festival will offer gourmet food samples and feature live music. Please note that the event is for adults 21 years and older. Tickets begin at $95.
9 a.m., The Village Community Presbyterian Church in Rancho Santa Fe
Easter time is here again! This free event is sure to be both a child and adult pleaser. Patrons are invited to enjoy one of the holiday’s finest traditions this Saturday by participating in an Easter egg hunt. Eggciting! In addition, the event will feature a petting zoo, a balloon artist, face painting and various crafts on the church campus. Did we mention it is free? It is! Be sure to scoot on over and revel in an eggcessivly great time for one and all and don’t forget those cameras!
