To kick off National LGBT Pride Month, the 2015 San Diego Pride Festival will return to San Diego from July 17-19. In addition, the LGBT Pride flag will stand inside the first floor of San Diego City Hall for the month of July.
The weekend will be full of fun festivities, underscored by a community-wide sense of tolerance and acceptance in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling on same-sex marriage. Make sure you check out the following events and activities during this year’s San Diego Pride Weekend:
SD Pride Block Party
Intersection of Normal St. and University Ave.
6 PM-11 PM
San Diego Pride Weekend will kick off on Friday, July 17, with the fourth annual Pride of Hillcrest Block Party. This year’s headliner for the event is female DJ and producer JES, who has worked with famous DJs like Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren. In addition to fabulous live music, the Block Party will also feature a luminescent Ferris wheel, bottle service, and the opportunity to raise the Pride flag as a community. Additionally, during the Block Party hosted hour from 6 PM-7 PM, complimentary cocktails will be available for the first 300 guests.
Must be 21 or older to attend. Tickets may be purchased here.
LGBT Pride Parade
Begins at 11 AM at Hillcrest Pride Flag
Normal St. and University Ave.
The San Diego Pride Parade will take place on Saturday, July 18, at 11 AM. San Diego’s annual Pride Parade is one of the largest in the United States, with over 100,000 spectators in attendance. Free to the community, the Pride Parade is a true display of acceptance, diversity, and respect for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities. This year, San Diego Pride has named the entire Transgender community as the Grand Marshal for the 2015 San Diego Pride Parade.
Marston Pt., Balboa Park
Saturday: 11 AM-10 PM
Sunday: 11 AM-8 PM
On Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, the annual Pride Music Festival will take place in Balboa Park.
