Chargers beat the Cincinatti Bengals on Sunday and next up, Bolts take on the Broncos in Denver. Are you a die hard Chargers fan planning on travel to Denver this weekend? If you are one of the lucky ones to snag a play off ticket, we found travel tips for Charger fans heading to Denver.
1. Purchase Tickets ASAP
Frontier, United and Southwest all provide non-stop flights to Denver. If you are willing to make a stop in Phoenix or somewhere else, prices could be cheaper. Most importantly, purchase your flights sooner rather than later.
2. Travel As A Group
Catch a ride with one of La Jolla’s limousine services or rent a huge van with your group. Carey Limousine provides charter limousines and as-directed travel services. Relax and have someone else take care of the drive. If you travel as a group, split the cost and save money.
3. Prepare For Weather
Denver’s elevation is one mile or 5,280 feet above sea level. Mile high altitude can take a toll on your body so it’s important to stay hydrated and drink lots of water. Bring sunglasses and sunscreen, believe it or not, Denver receives over 300 days of sunshine.
4. Game Day Transportation
Sports Authority Field at Mile has 6,500 parking spaces available on-site on game days. Public transportation includes Broncos Ride shuttles, light rail or standard bus service.
5. Leave Early, Beat the Vegas Crowd
If you are driving, chances are you will be driving on I-15 North, the same highway that is headed to Vegas. Beat the Vegas crowd and leave San Diego as early in the day as you can. Coming back, try leaving on Monday instead of Sunday.
AFC Divisional Playoff game will kick off at 2:40 p.m. MST (1:40 p.m. PST) at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Sunday, Jan. 12. Are you headed to the game? Send us game day pics to email@example.com and we will feature your picture on our Facebook page!
