San Diego Restaurant Week is back (January 18-24) so take a break from your New Year’s resolution and start planning your foodie outing. To help you navigate through the participating La Jolla restaurants, we’ve rounded up our top La Jolla picks for San Diego Restaurant Week, broken down into two categories: lunch and “splurge” dinners. Bon appétit!

What to get: Mix & match three tacos, some of our favorites are the traditional braised carnitas, chicken al pastor, and Guadalajara style braised lamb barbacoa (+$1). The meal comes with a mini frozen horchata and your choice of housemade guacamole or charro beans. What are Charro beans? It’s pretty close to a chili. It’s refried black beans, pork chorizo, bacon, chile guajillo, topped with melted cheese and avocado.
