Surf for a Cause: Luau & Legends of Surfing Invitational 2014

Now in its 21st year, the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center Luau & Legends of Surfing Invitational has become one of the most successful surfing fundraisers in the country; since its inception in 1994, the invitational has raised more than $6 million for the UCSD Moores Center. The day will be packed full of events, including a surfing competition, auctions, and a traditional luau complete with a tropical themed buffet.

The Stuart Collection at UCSD

ucsd stuart collection La Jolla is home to some of the best art galleries in San Diego, and UCSD has become an important and integral part of the art scene here. The Stuart Collection, which began in 1982, is spread throughout the expansive urban campus and includes several sculptures that date back to the 80s. Both indoor and outdoor, the collection’s visual art pieces are quirky, interactive, and integrate on-campus buildings, making it a pretty radical version of a typical sculpture garden. Dr. Seuss and His San Diego Connection

Geisel is the author who penned those miraculous and colorful youthful books that have stood the test of time. Art Show: THRESHOLDS by Hannah Johansen at UCSD

Art Show" Thresholds

THRESHOLDS is Hannah Johansen’s first solo art show, featuring oil paintings, drawings, digital illustrations, and sculpture. Running from February 25th- 28th at the University of California, San Diego Mandeville Annex Gallery. THRESHOLDS focuses on lowbrow surrealism, self portraiture and psychological monsters. Original art will be available for purchase and the artist will be present Tuesday the 25th for a soft opening from 5-7PM.
