La Jolla Events | Weekend February 7-9

Celebrate the month of love by exploring the amazing events that La Jolla and San Diego have to offer! From watching the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics onboard the famed U.S.S. Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony Viewing Party
In collaboration with the U.S.S. Midway Museum and NBC7, the U.S. Olympics Training Center will be hosting an opening ceremony viewing party on board the U.S.S Midway Museum. The event is free to the public and will be held on board the flight deck of the famed aircraft carrier. Doors open at 6:30pm with a live program at 7:00pm, and followed by the opening ceremony broadcast at 7:30pm. Visit midway.org for more information.

24th Annual San Diego Jewish Film Festival
Tonight marks the start of the first weekend screenings for the 24th Annual San Diego Jewish Film Festival. The festival will be showcasing over 60 contemporary Jewish-themed films from around the world celebrating life, human rights, and freedom of expression. For more information, visit sdcjc.org.

9th Annual San Diego Tết Festival: A Vietnamese Celebration of the Lunar New Year
When: January 31st – February 2nd
Where: Mira Mesa Community Park
What: Tết Nguyên Đán (Tet) is one of most important holidays in Vietnam. Celebrated over a period of three days, Tet will kick off on Friday with the legendary Lion Dance at 6:00PM. The event is free and open to the public. Other festivities include live music, traditional performances, and activities for the entire family!
