Star Spangled Pops
Saturday, 7:30 p.m. at Embarcadero Marina Park South
The San Diego Symphony’s Bayside Summer Nights 2017 kicks off the weekend with a traditional acknowledgement of the music of America, from films and Broadway to those old patriotic faves, including a salute to the brave men and women of our armed forces. If you get that patriotic vibe, Star Spangled Pops is your go to event leading up to the Fourth of July. The highly regarded symphony gives it their all and the event climaxes with fireworks. Get your blanket, favorite beverages (adult or otherwise) and enjoy a fantastic evening under the stars. Lawn tickets begin at a mere $24. Embarcadero Marina Park South is located at 200 Marina Park Way, San Diego, behind the convention center.
Cusp Dining & Drinks Fireworks Viewing Party
July 4th at 7955 La Jolla Shores Drive in La Jolla
Head on over to La Jolla on the 4th and grab a delicious dinner and a show at the 11th floor Pacific Ocean-view restaurant atop Hotel La Jolla. Hang out with Chef Donald Lockhart and the ever friendly Cusp crew in the cozy Starling Room for a special cocktail reception-style viewing party. Patrons will be able to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display over La Jolla Cove, hosted, tasty hor d’oeurves, a hosted negroni and gin and tonic bar, as well as a celebratory champagne toast when the fireworks show begins. Main entrees include surf and turf, rack of lamb, roasted Scottish salmon or roasted chicken breast. Limited seats are available and reservations are highly recommended. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
George’s at the Cove Dinner & Fireworks
July 4th at 6:30 p.m., La Jolla
George’s Ocean Terrace and Level2 are the spot on place to delight in the La Jolla fireworks display. Patrons are cordially invited to pop on in, grab a seat, and chill with friends and/or family. George’s definitely provides some of the best views of the 2017 fireworks show over the ever scenic La Jolla Cove at 9 p.m. The cost of each table includes a full 3-course dinner on July 4th. Entrees include Roasted Organic Chicken Breast rapini, fingerling potatoes, salsa verde; Herbed Alaskan Halibut with sweet white corn, sugar snap peas, and cherry tomato vinaigrette; Grilled Filet Mignon replete with smoked mashed potatoes, asparagus, pearl onions, and shiita. San Diego County Fair and Fireworks Display
July 4th 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. at the Del Mar Fairgrounds
Bring the kiddos to the final day of the San Diego County Fair and celebrate the Fourth of July with plenty of food, fun and fireworks. Aside from the myriad rides for kids and adults, some of the best food is on hand to please even the pickiest palate. The fireworks display begins promptly at 9 p.m. at the Heineken Grandstand Stage. Admission is $18 for people aged 13 through 61, $11 for seniors 62 and above, and $11 for kids up to age 12. Get out to the fair and don’t miss one of the better fireworks displays in all of San Diego.
