Have you picked out the perfect pumpkin to carve yet? Well it’s not too late! There are a few pumpkin patches around La Jolla, and the best part is they have activities for all ages. So let your pumpkin adventure begin at one these patches that include kid rides, giant slides, inflatable play centers, petting zoos, game zones, school tours and even party packages.
With Autumn just around the corner, La Jolla is getting ready for crisp fall temperatures, trees changing to bold colors, and the years primary harvest. Back-to-school, holidays, and sports are all things people look forward to during the following four months. Whether you prefer attending Oktoberfest, or taking the kids to a Haunted House, there is something for everyone! Here is a look at some festivities to get enthusiastic for as we say goodbye to summer:
1. Encinitas Oktoberfest 2013
The 18th annual Encinitas Oktoberfest will be taking place on Sunday, October 22 from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The family fun filled event will include live music, Bavarian dancers, a fun zone, and street craft faire including over 200 vendors. All of which should help you and your family feel the authentic German celebration. Taste one of the many authentic German bratwurst or try an authentic German beer from national and local breweries. Admission and parking are both free for the event.
2. Julian Apple Days
The Julian Apple Days festival will be held on October 5th & 6th this year. Autumn would not be complete without freshly harvested apples. In 1907 Julian apples won the distinguished Wilder Medal. Wanting to celebrate, Ranchers and town leaders organized what is now known as Apple Days. Continue reading
