This past weekend, the 2014 La Jolla Concours d’Elegance, a yearly antique and vintage car show that showcases old foreign and domestic cars from around the world. This year’s theme centered around the history of European racing, and included most of the big-name car companies: Bentley, Ferrari, Austin-Healey, Porsche, and Rolls-Royce. Everything from the Parisian roots of the first-ever motoring events in the late 1800s to the continental racing phenomenon spreading across Europe through the 1900s and into the modern-day car scene were celebrated. La Jolla, California was driven to a fever pitch this past Sunday as the La Jolla Motor Car Classic road in to La Jolla village and delivered family fun for the 7th consecutive year.
The beauty of the world’s finest classic automobiles parked along La Jolla’s picturesque oceanfront cove on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon is a portrait normally reserved for art galleries and movie screens. That it was captured in living color this past weekend is what makes La Jolla ‘The Jewel’ of America’s finest city.
The La Jolla Blue Book hopes you enjoy these pictures and video of the La Jolla Car Classic as much as the community of La Jolla and all its’ visitors and residents enjoy attending this one-of-a-kind event each year. This special event is promotion that San Diego and the La Jolla community can’t afford to lose.
