Fall Sale at Adelaide’s is Bursting with Seasonal Flowers
Of all La Jolla’s florists and floral designers, Adelaide’s has been San Diego’s premier florist for over 75 years. Creative director Larry Anhorn has the store bursting with warm autumn hues, seasonal flowers and posh Halloween decorations. Located on busy Girard Avenue, Adelaide’s has balloons outside the store indicating that the large fall sale has begun with 10-60% off store-wide.
The store is full of large floral displays, wreaths of autumn leaves and whimsical spooky items. Ravens and bats are mounted on elegant candlesticks and pumpkins are grinning next to spiders and ghouls. The crafty decorations look hand-made and vintage, matching the store’s nostalgic aroma. Scented candles exhale the scents of baked apples and brown sugar that get customers excited for fall.
“We have to create the seasons here in Southern California,” Anhorn said. He wants Adelaide’s to be known for more than just a floral shop where you can shop for flowers and decorations, but as a resource for anyone interested in Do-It-Yourself (DIY) projects.
