Whether you are yearning for a romantic restaurant or the excitement of sitting at the Bar of an incredible Sushi restaurant, you will find these and virtually any other craving satisfied by the dining found in the Village.

Below are brief reviews of some of the most popular restaurants in La Jolla, along with a little bit of information on what types of food they serve. Please keep in mind that these aren’t the only eateries in the area – far from it – but are generally considered to be among the best places to dine.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse is a premier restaurant, and if you love the taste of a great steak, you have to visit. In addition to steak, they offer a variety of other dishes, including seafood. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse has great desserts and an impressive wine menu that has more than 100 choices. If you are looking for an upscale dining experience and an excuse to dress up, Fleming’s is one of your best options.

The Marine Room Restaurant is another one of the top choices in La Jolla. The restaurant offers steak, seafood, and a full menu of other items. Some of the things that make the Marine Room such a popular choice are the atmosphere and its location right on the beach – with stunning views of the La Jolla coastline. The restaurant is actually a part of the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, which offers a hotel and can make a great place to stay while you are in town.

Since the 1950s, the Whaling Bar and Grill has been a popular spot for locals to dine and have a drink in La Jolla. The atmosphere cultivated in the restaurant evokes the feeling of an old world pub. The restaurant is a part of La Valencia Hotel, and it can make a convenient place to dine if you are staying there. Even if you aren’t staying at the hotel, you might want to stop into the restaurant for their great beef, chicken, and seafood dishes. They have a full menu and bar, so you can be sure to find something that suits your taste. La Valencia also boasts two additional top-notch restaurants – the Sky Room and the Mediterranean Room and Patio.

With a casual but elegant atmosphere and fresh seasonal cuisine, Nine-Ten is yet another of La Jolla’s favorite restaurants. Rated by Gayot restaurant reviewers as one of the top 10 best restaurants in San Diego, Nine-Ten is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They serve “Evolving California Cuisine,” where menus are dictated by the local harvest. You can enjoy indoor or outdoor dining at Nine-Ten, and for special events or parties, reserve one of their several private dining rooms.
