Herringbone Now Open in La Jolla!

Herringbone celebrated its grand opening on Thursday to a packed house. Celebrity Chef Brian Malarkey brings “Ocean Bazaar” cuisine in a chic indoor-outdoor open space. Leading the kitchen is Top Chef Season 7’s Amanda Baumgarten. Amanda will be serving up creative surf and turf dishes including seafood specialties from around the globe.
Its unique interior makes you feel like you’ve entered into a Mediterranean-like courtyard. Olive trees planted throughout the open space, exposed brick walls, and vaulted ceilings give this space its unique character. Near the entrance you will find the lounge area with sofas and an open bar where you can gather for drinks and light bites after work or before dinner.
The main dining area is located past the patio which also has a full service bar. The back-end of the restaurant makes up the kitchen where you can see the chef and kitchen staff in action.
Herringbone is open for lunch, dinner, late night and Sunday brunch (please check website for exact times.) The dinner menu is broken down into five sections: Cold and hot fare (appetizers), crusts (specialty pizzas), greens (salads), and plates (main dishes) which change daily. Their fresh seafood creations are paired with local craft beers, wines, and Snake Oil Cocktails. Here is what we got to taste…
On the “Crusts” menu we loved the wild mushroom, treviso and Taleggio crust. Pictured below is cured salmon, leek, bacon & goat cheese crust.
The Cold and Hot Fare consisted of fresh jumbo shrimp with tomatillo cocktail, beets & buratta, and local fresh oysters from Carlsbad.
Also from the hot fare, delicious crab cakes!
Herringbone is a great addition to La Jolla and is sure to be a hit among locals and visitors alike.
