Small Business Saturday, November 30th

nov 30

Black Friday is a week from today. It’s a great day for capitalism and consumerism in the United States. Shoppers stand in long lines that wrap around their favorite retail buildings hoping to get a good deal on their favorite goods.

There is another way to shop and you don’t have to rush through your family Thanksgiving dinner, or set an alarm to head to the store at 3 in the morning. It is Small Business Saturday. Continue reading

Small Business Saturday

Small businesses make up more than 99.7% of all employers in the U.S, no wonder they are often referred to as “the heart of the American economy.” Last year, American Express® introduced Small Business Saturday and this year it continues on Saturday November 26th.

Ditch the long lines at the big box stores and join us on Small Business Saturday by shopping in La Jolla Village, a great way to show support and get some of your holiday shopping done. The village is made up of many small businesses such as Bowers Jewelers, the oldest home-owned and operated business in La Jolla or Warwick’s, the oldest family-owned and operated book store in the United States. Walk into any of these businesses and chances are you will be greeted by the owner.

To help you celebrate Small Business Saturday American Express® is offering a one-time $25 statement credit when you use your registered or linked American Express® Card on Small Business Saturday with a purchase of $25 or more at a small business.

So whether you are looking to finish your holiday shopping or treat yourself to something special, La Jolla small businesses have a lot to offer. Let us know you’ll be participating by posting this message, “I Pledge To Shop Small” and/or “Like” your local small businesses. Together we can make a difference.
