It’s a big weekend in America’s Finest City! Besides the numerous Oktoberfest happenings around town, there is plenty else to do – from Fashion Week San Diego to the San Diego Int’l Film Festival and CRSSD, there’s something for everyone. Here’s your roundup for the top San Diego weekend events!

Where: Hotel La Jolla
What: Fashion Week San Diego is a traditional fashion week, bringing new designers from around the world to show their never-seen-before collections on the FWSD Runway. This year they are featuring 26 very talented and dynamic labels/brands to the catwalk in La Jolla. Each night this weekend features several runway shows, and the Annual Trunk & Fashion Awards will be presented on Sunday. Don’t miss this couture event right in our backyard!

What: The San Diego International Film Festival is Southern California’s biggest film event and a leading stop on the independent festival circuit. SDiFF offers a totally unique experience to catch first time and veteran filmmakers as they debut their latest work; be among the first to see major studio premieres on the road to the Hollywood awards. This five-day event features 100+ independent films, studio premieres, panels with celebrities and industry insiders, red carpet events, parties, all-star tributes and filmmaker awards.

Where: San Diego County Waterfront Park
What: The annual CRSSD Festival is here; a two-day electronic music festival at the awesome new 12-acre San Diego Waterfront Park. This year’s event features three stages and 36+ performers. In addition to the music, the festival will offer craft beer, mixed drinks, food, and more. The 2016 lineup includes Miike Snow, Big Wild, and more.

Where: Pacific Beach Boardwalk
What: Head to PB for the 19th Annual Pacific Beachfest — don’t miss one of the best beachside festivals around! Enjoy sports activities like the Pacific Beachfest 5K, True Beach Pro Volleyball tournament, a surf contest, and a volleyball tournament. If you aren’t a sports lover, fear not – there’s something for everyone: the Fish Taco Contest, a huge San Diego craft beer garden, arts and crafts vendors, 3 stages of live music, and more. Bonus: it’s a free event!

Where: Balboa Park
What: Maker Faire is a hands-on visual feast of invention and creativity and a celebration of the Maker movement. Balboa Park is host to this celebration of technology, arts, craftsmanship, science, and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) culture. It’s for innovative, creative people who like to tinker and love to create. Over 200 local and regional makers will display their creations at Balboa Park, mostly inside participating museums. This multi-museum event showcases innovation in San Diego.
