What: Enjoy close encounters with Scripps Institution of Oceanography scientists and search the galleries for unusual underwater creatures rarely seen at Birch Aquarium. Discover a sea of glowing beasts(big and small), get sticky with slime,and enjoy shipwrecked stories, all while BOO-gieing down to live music and having a monstrous good time! Recommended for ages 2 and above.

What: Get ready to celebrate fall and shop hundreds of artisans showcasing American handmade and embellished art, crafts, holiday, jewelry, specialty food, blown glass, and much more during this three day exhibition. The Del Mar Harvest Festival Original Art & Craft Show features affordable family fun, good food, shopping, and great entertainment at the main stage by John Park the Funny Waiter and Hyjinx Band, along with the always popular strolling entertainers. Tickets are $9 for adults; children 12 and under are free.

What: The San Diego Beer and Music Festival is a unique walk-around event that celebrates the best of San Diego’s craft beer and live music. The festival will showcase multiple local and regional breweries as well as local bands (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus) and DJs. Participating breweries include Hangar 24, Lost Abbey, Saint Archer, Latittude 33, Stone Brewing, Mother Earth, and dozens more.

What: Celebrate the 17th anniversary of the La Jolla Open Aire Market with their annual Harvest Festival this weekend. Come decked out in costume with the family and enjoy tons of food, games (potato sack races and pumpkin decorating), activities, crafts, and face painting – plus a chance to win a bunch of different prizes. The event is free and perfect for a fall family outing in La Jolla!

What: Celebrate the Craft returns for its 13th annual year this weekend! Come out to enjoy a full afternoon focused solely on the delicious complexities of Southern Californian cuisine. Hear the stories behind growing, designing, and carefully preparing your food from the people behind it all—and of course, taste it yourself! The highlight of the day will be several live cooking demonstrations by chefs from some of San Diego’s premier restaurants.
