San Diego is gearing up for another warm weekend, and there is plenty going on in the city – from a pet-friendly brunch cruise on the Hornblower to Taste of North Park and an Oktoberfest event at the Zoo Safari Park. What: Sip, sample, and savor! With one ticket, farm-to-table cuisine, vegetarian dishes and tantalizing sweets can all be experienced at North Park’s hottest dining destinations. Then wash it all down with samples of our region’s famous craft beer, microbrews, ales and lagers served on tap while exploring North Park’s boutiques, art galleries, salons, and shops which will all offer samples.

Where: Del Mar Fairgrounds; 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Del Mar 92014
What: The San Diego Kids Expo & Fair is held every April and October at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Part businesses and non-profits on display, part fun fair and part music and dance festival, this is definitely all about kids! 4 stages of entertainment, 150 local companies that offer products with children in mind, and of course, a ton of great activities, crafts, and fun things for the little ones to do.
When: Sunday Oct 18, 5pm-7pm
Where: San Diego Zoo Safari Park; 15500 San Pasqual Valley Rd, Escondido 92027
What: Enjoy a delicious and bountiful dinner buffet to celebrate Oktoberfest at the Safari Park. There will be live music and a convenient cash bar. Families and all ages are welcome! Nonmember adult ticket price is $57.95; children are $31.95. Be sure and call for reservations as spots will likely fill up early.

Where: Hornblower Cruises; 1800 North Harbor Dr., San Diego 92101
What: Bow Wow Brunch is just like the weekly Sunday Champagne Brunch Cruise, but on October 18, they welcome you, your family and your beloved pet on board! Enjoy a delicious and bountiful buffet with unlimited champagne and desserts, plus a special pet buffet for your dog along with a dog relief area set up on the sun deck of the yacht! A portion of the proceeds will go directly to helping Helen Woodward Animal Center.
When: Sunday Oct 18, 9:30am-5:30pm
Where: Grand Avenue, between Center City Pkwy and Ivy, Escondido 92025
What: Enjoy two full days of live entertainment, more than 500 vendors, children’s rides and activities, and food from around the world to the downtown tree-lined streets of Escondido. Covering seven blocks along historic Grand Avenue, the Escondido Grand Avenue Festival is the second largest single-day fair in California. This is a free, family-friendly event that’s perfect for the entire family!
