What: As another first-class summer season closes, it’s all about fall tidings and bringing back the old-school Hollywood vibe! The fall season includes concerts, deals and other activities and runs through December 4. One Opening Day activity will be the Stars & Stripes Fashion Contest; attendees are urged to wear their most stylish patriotic attire to the track and enter to win prizes. Track admission is free for veterans and active duty military with valid ID cards on Friday as it coincides with Veteran’s Day.

What: See over 4,000 Veterans, Active Military, Bands, Floats and Civic Groups celebrate Veterans Day with the San Diego Veteran’s Day Parade. This year’s theme is “A Tribute To The Guardians Of Freedom,” and will recognize veterans from every era and currently serving soldiers, Marines, sailors, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen. N Harbor Drive is again the site of the Start Line and the Route for our 2016 parade! Viewers will see the Parade start on N Harbor Drive one block south of Grape Street, and proceed south past a long row of grand stands, and past Broadway, past the USS Midway, and then continue on Harbor Drive.

Where: USS Midway Museum
What: Head to the USS Midway Museum this Veterans Day. Free Admission for veterans and their families all day. See George Hood “The Plank Man” attempt a World Record of The Plank Pose on the Flight Deck, then watch the Veterans Day Parade from the Flight Deck at 11. Following the parade will be NBC7’s Salute to Service Festival with live entertainment, a KidzZone, prizes, and giveaways. Entrance fee is regular Museum admission.

Where: North Park
What: Take in some live music this weekend as various artists gather for San Diego Music Thing 2016 in North Park at Bar Pink, The Office Bar, U-31, The Irenic, ChuckAlek Biergarten and Art Produce Gallery. Confirmed musicians include Little Hurricane, Touche Amore, Thor & Friends and Geographer, and more. Conference panels will take place Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the ChuckAlek Biergarten, with performances to follow. A $50 badge gets you admission to all events across all venues for both days.

Where: The Lodge at Torrey Pines (Arroyo Terrace)
What: There’s no better way to close San Diego Beer Week than on the Arroyo Terrace of the Lodge at Torrey Pines! The Beer Garden brings together the best of San Diego’s breweries and local chefs to celebrate the craft beer movement. With 28 breweries and 14 chefs, Beer Garden is a truly unique and delicious beer and food pairing event. Each admission includes unlimited tasters of beer and food. The event benefits Chef Celebration Foundation and San Diego Brewers Guild.
