San Diego Weekend Events | March 20 – 22

Happy weekend, San Diego! This Friday through Sunday, check out the Latin American Art Festival, a craft beer and art festival in Bankers Hill, and an event commemorating the 45th anniversary of Apollo 13. We’ve got the low-down on the best San Diego weekend events right here.

Bankers Hill Art & Craft Beer Fest

When: Friday March 20, 5pm
Where: The Abbey; 2825 5th Ave., San Diego
What: Held at The Abbey, one of the most historic venues in Bankers Hill, this festival features many of San Diego’s finest craft breweries, art installations from renowned Bankers Hill artists, and food from some of the most recognized chefs and restaurants in San Diego. Tickets are $35 per person and include entry as well as 2 oz-pours and food samples from dozens of vendors.

Latin American Art Festival

When: Saturday March 21 & Sunday March 22, 10am-6pm
Where: NTC Liberty Station; 2730 Historic Decatur Rd., San Diego
What: Nearly 100 artists, craftsmen, and international cuisine chefs will participate in the Latin American Art Festival at NTC Arts & Culture District in Liberty Station. The festival celebrates the growing collection of Latino artists and galleries as well as the growing influence of Latin American cuisine in San Diego. Admission is free to the public.

Nations of San Diego International Dance Festival

When: March 20-22, 2pm-10pm
Where: Spreckels Theater; 121 Broadway Ave., San Diego
What: Celebrate the 22nd Anniversary Year of Southern California’s largest multi-cultural dance festival! The festival will be held in the beautiful historic Spreckels Theater in downtown San Diego and feature more than 250 dancers and musicians representing cultures spanning the globe. There will be four performances total throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Check website for details.

Apollo 13 45th Anniversary Event

When: Saturday March 21, 5:30pm
Where: San Diego Air & Space Museum; 2001 Pan American Plaza, San Diego 92101
What: The San Diego Air & Space Museum is offering a special and rare opportunity to meet the astronauts of Apollo 13, plus the key people on the ground who directed the efforts to help save them in space. Joining them will be others from the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs to relate how they all triumphed over great adversity. The reception begins at 5:30pm and dinner will follow at 6:30.

4th Annual Healthy Living Festival

When: Saturday March 21 & Sunday March 22, 10am-6pm
Where: Del Mar Fairgrounds; 2260 Jummy Durante Boulevard, Del Mar 92014
What: Learn more about eating healthier, finding a healthy weight, getting into healthy activities, and keeping a healthier home. Listen to experts share new ideas about lifestyle changes that can help you prevent disease and lower stress. Take part in free medical testing and screening; watch chefs prepare healthy and ultra-tasty dishes with take home recipes; catch a belly dancing or Zumba show; or participate in a yoga or qigong class.
