Enjoy the sunshine this weekend with a bunch of outdoor events, including a spring festival at the Botanic Garden, Sailor Days at the Maritime Museum, and one of Stone Brewing’s biggest events of the year. Sabor Latino Wine, Beer & Food Festival

When: Saturday, March 19; 1pm-5pm
Where: Fashion Valley Mall; 7007 Friars Rd., San Diego 92108
What: Experience some of the best Latin cuisine with the finest brewery and wineries in both San Diego and Baja California Mexico! The event will feature live entertainment and amazing performances from the local musicians. Get ready for unlimited tastings from Ballast Point, Lagunitas, and Border X Brewery as well as wines from Adobe Guadalupe, Vena Cava, and Santo Tomas – to name just a few.

Sailor Days

When: Starting Saturday, March 19 – 27
Where: Maritime Museum of San Diego; 1492 N Harbor Dr, San Diego 92101
What: Adults and children alike can experience life as a sailor! Make rope for sailing, move cargo, raise and lower huge sails, tie sailors knots, visit a steam engine, and more. The activities vary each day. Each child can participate in a scavenger hunt around the ships while learning a bit of history. For an additional $5 per person, families can sign up for a Historic Bay Cruise on San Diego Bay aboard the museum’s historic 1914 harbor pilot boat.

Spring Planting Jubilee & Tomato Sale

When: Sat March 19 & Sun March 20; 9am-5pm
Where: San Diego Botanic Garden; 230 Quail Gardens Dr., Encinitas 92024
What: It’s March planting madness at the Spring Planting Jubilee & Tomato Sale. This is truly a plant lover’s dream – a wide variety of herbs, spring plants, bromeliads, garden art and implements available as well as a locally-sourced and grown Summer Garden vegetable extravaganza. The sale will feature a wide variety of tomatoes, vegetables, seeds, cut flowers and annuals. Garden experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide helpful advice on spring plantings and caring for your entire garden.

Stone Oakquinox

When: Sunday, March 20; 10am-2pm
Where: Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens; 2120 Harmony Grove Rd., Escondido
What: STONE’s Oakquinox returns for its seventh glorious year! Join the world-famous brewery for a celebration of the delicious extravagance that ensues when beer meets wood. Craft Beer Ambassador “Dr.” Bill Sysak has lined up an amazing selection of barrel-aged and wood-infused brews on tap and in bottles. Each ticket includes a commemorative glass, fifteen 3-oz tasters, and more than 100 different beers to choose from.

Hot Chocolate 15/5k

When: Sunday, March 20; 7am
Where: Petco Park
What: The Hot Chocolate 15/5k, coined as America’s Sweetest Race, is happening this weekend! Each Hot Chocolate 15/5k race features both a 15k (9.3miles) and 5k (3.1miles) distance and runners of all skill levels are encouraged to join the fun! The chocolate really begins to flow at the Post Race Party where runners enjoy music, family friendly kid-zone and finisher’s mugs filled with hot chocolate, chocolate fondue and tasty dippable treats!
