From the St. Patty’s Day parade and festival to a giant block party in the Gaslamp and Tomatomania!, we’ve got you covered on San Diego weekend events for March 13-15.

La Jolla Symphony & Chorus

When: Friday March 13, 7:30pm
Where: Mandeville Auditorium @ UCSD; 9500 Gilman Dr, La Jolla
What: Steven Schick leads chorus, orchestra, guest soloist, and guest chorus in three performances of one of the most fabulous pieces of music ever written – Hector Berlioz’s “Requiem.” Berlioz composed it for performance in the vast Les Invalides in Paris, and he conceived it as an example of what he called “architectural music.”

St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival

When: Saturday March 14, 9am-6pm
Where: 5th & 6th Avenues- between Juniper and Upas, San Diego 92101
What: Come celebrate Ireland with the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival. With more than 120 parade entries and thousands in attendance, this has become one of the largest single-day events in San Diego. The Festival in Balboa Park will feature live entertainment from 11:00am to 5:30pm, food and craft booths, and two beer gardens.

ShamROCK Gaslamp Block Party

When: Saturday March 14, 4pm
Where: Gaslamp Quarter; main entrance is at 5th Avenue and G Street
What: Streets will transform into an urban, super chic version of the beautiful rolling hills of Ireland as we color the streets green with over 80,000 square feet of Astroturf! ShamROCK 2015 is guaranteed to once again “ROCK” the streets with endless live entertainment – the Field Irish Stage will be positively Celtic with countless live bands performing Irish Rock, Irish Punk Rock and other Irish favorites.

Spring Garden Festival & Tomatomania

When: Sunday March 15, 9am-5pm
Where: San Diego Botanic Garden; 230 Quail Gardens Dr; Encinitas 92024
What: Don’t miss the Garden’s new Spring Garden Festival and Tomatomania featuring a wide variety of herbs, spring plants, bromeliads, garden art and implements and of course tomatoes! Garden experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide helpful advice on spring plantings and caring for your entire garden. Food will be available from Divine Fresh and musical entertainment from Bob Ballentine and friends.

San Diego Latino Film Festival

When: March 12 – 22
Where: AMC Fashion Valley 18; 7037 Friars Rd., San Diego 92108
What: The 22nd San Diego Latino Film Festival presented by Lexus, set to take place March 12-22 at the AMC Fashion Valley 18 at Simon Fashion Valley, is thrilled to announce several of its 2015 Spotlight Films, starring Kate del Castillo, Demián Bichir, Sandra Echeverría, Marimar Vega, and Sebastián Zurita, as well as an unforgettable profile of one of soccer’s greatest players from world renowned filmmaker Álex de la Iglesia.

Balboa Park STEAM Family Day

When: Sunday March 15, 11am-3pm
Where: House of Hospitality at Balboa Park; 1549 El Prado, San Diego 92101
What: Balboa Park brings a world of discovery to children of all ages! Over two dozen cultural organizations will put the fun into STEAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math – through hands-on activities, crafts, demonstrations, special exhibitions, and more. Activities take place from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and are free with paid museum admission.
