What: The annual San Diego Pride Parade is among the largest in the United States! Come be a part of this year’s historic celebration. The 2016 theme is Pride Unites the World. The parade begins at the Hillcrest Pride Flag at University Ave. and Normal St., proceeds west on University Ave. and ends at Laurel St. in Balboa Park – where you’ll find the entrance to the Pride Music Festival, which features multiple stages of entertainment, more than 200 musicians, bands, comedians, dancers, shopping at dozens of vendor booths, an art exhibit, cultural presentations, and great food!

Where: Del Mar Racetrack
What: More than 40,000+ race fans are expected to attend what’s defined as one of the most fabulous, fashionable and fun festivities in the west – Opening Day at Del Mar! Celebrate in style by participating in Del Mar’s annual tradition, the Opening Day Hats Contest where entrants compete for cash prizes and judged on creativity and style. Join The Party for a day of style, sun, live music and action at the seaside oval; post-time for the first race is 2pm.

Where: Pier Plaza; 10 Evergreen Ave, Imperial Beach 91932
What: The 2016 Imperial Beach Sun & Sea Festival will feature world-class sandcastle sculptors creating some of the best sand creations on the West Coast as well as a community parade and pancake breakfast, live music, children’s craft activities, a Kids ‘n Kastles competition, Farmer’s Market and International Food Fair. Sample a variety of local foods or dine at one of the nearby restaurants, many of which will be offering special menus and discounts for the weekend.
When: Sunday July 17; 2pm-4pm
Where: Ellen Browning Scripps Park, La Jolla
What: Starting this weekend through Sept 4, Ellen Browning Scripps Park will once again be filled with the sounds of live music. With the gorgeous Pacific as a backdrop and the beautiful green grass and trees of the Park as the setting, these concerts are a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends and family. Relax by the ocean and listen to the first concert of the season, Sue Palmer & Her Motel Swing Orchestra.

What: Watch The Princess Bride on the big screen! There will also be an inflatable jousting arena, face painting, photo ops, crafts, food trucks, a snack bar, and tons more. Bring the whole family out for a movie and fun and games at Santee Lakes.
