What: An apocalyptic music is one that entertains a terminal state of affairs, be that in connection with ideas, society, the planet, the person – whatever is of greatest importance to the mind shaping the musical artifice. It is music about fall, destruction, and sometimes, the hope of the establishment of a new order. Explore and listen to a variety of new-age apocalypse music with the SoundON Festival of Modern Music at the Athenaeum, which brings together an international roster of composers and performers for a four-day exploration of contemporary chamber music.
