Another weekend is here! Check out these awesome San Diego weekend events happening all over the county, from a new exhibit at MCASD La Jolla to a ukulele orchestra performance and (yet another) beer festival in North County, you won’t want to be stuck at home this weekend.

Laugh-in: Art, Comedy, Performance (Opening Night)

When: Friday Jan 23, 7pm
Where: MCASD La Jolla, 700 Prospect Street, La Jolla 92037
What: The MCASD La Jolla has a new exhibition! From Jan 23 – April 19, Laugh-in will explore the recent turn toward comedic performance in contemporary art. The exhibition features twenty artists who engage the strategies and themes of stand-up comedy as a means to rethink questions of artistic performativity, audience participation, and public speech.

When: Friday Jan 23, 8pm-10pm
Where: MCASD (Sherwood Auditorium), 700 Prospect St., La Jolla 92037
What: The La Jolla Music Society presents this charming group of all-singing, all-strumming musicians. In concert, The Ukulele Orchestra offers a funny, virtuosic, twanging, awesome, foot-stomping evening. Jumping from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana via Otis Redding and Spaghetti Western soundtracks, the Orchestra takes the audience on an eclectic musical adventure. The Ukulele Orchestra uses instruments bought with loose change and believes that all genres of music are available for reinterpretation – as long as they are played on the Ukulele!

Society Cabaret- La Jolla (Opening Weekend)

When: Friday Jan 23 & Saturday Jan 24, 7pm-9pm
Where: Forshaw Hall at Congregational Church; 1216 Cave Street, La Jolla, CA 92037 (no entrance on Cave – enter on Ivanhoe Ave)
What: Society Cabaret – La Jolla is a live performance venue located in the village of La Jolla. Catch an intimate evening of 75 to 90 minutes of piano and vocal live performances once monthly. Performances begin at 8pm and the doors open at 7pm. On Friday, enjoy  a collaboration between a great pianist and vocalist as they explore the narrative power of song; on Saturday, hear Broadway veteran Allie Trimm take the stage. North County Beer Festival

When: Saturday Jan 24, 1pm-5pm
Where: Moonlight Ampitheater, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive, Vista
What: Raise your glass to unlimited beer tastings from more than 25 local breweries (including Ballast Point, Green Flash, Alesmith, Iron Fist, the Lost Abbey, and tons more), over 50 craft beers, and live entertainment from The Clay Colton Band, Playfight, and Morgan Leigh Band.
