San Diego and La Jolla are in store for another beautiful weekend! From a massive Mardi Gras celebration in the Gaslamp Quarter to a chocolate extravaganza at a local campground, we’ve rounded up our favorite San Diego weekend events for your enjoyment. What: This year the festival will showcase 60 of the best contemporary Jewish-themed films from around the world celebrating life, human rights, and freedom of expression. The mission of the Film Festival is to offer outstanding world-class cinema that promotes awareness, appreciation and pride in the diversity of the Jewish people to attendees of the community at large. Where: San Diego Metro KOA Campground; 111 N Second Ave, Chula Vista
What: Join Metro KOA for an indulgent stay filled with chocolate! Enjoy a sweets-themed movie and an all-you-can-eat Chocolate Buffet featuring a Chocolate Fountain and delectable chocolate treats from brownies, bon-bons, cheesecake, cupcakes, and maybe even a few surprises – like chocolate flavored cheese?

Where: Mandeville Auditorium; 9500 Gilman Dr, La Jolla 92037
What: Steven Schick conducts an incredible concert of exploration this weekend. The program begins with György Ligeti’sAtmosphères (used in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey) and concludes with Claude Debussy’ magnificent evocation of the power of the sea, La Mer. In between come Philip Glass’s Piano Concerto No. 2, inspired by the journey of Lewis and Clark, with soloist Lisa Moore, and the premiere of a colorful orchestral work by Australian composer Erik Griswold, Jeux à la fin du monde.

Where: 5th Ave & Broadway, San Diego 92101
What: The Gaslamp’s biggest and most beloved block party is back! Enjoy some of the most talented performers, eye catching parade floats, energizing beats, and overall spectacle that sets the standard for San Diego’s nightlife and entertainment industry. The innovative and alluring stage and street performances will bring the wow factor like never before! And with the new Saturday date, there’s no excuse to miss the party this year!
When: Sunday Feb 7, 8am-12pm
Where: 485 S Coast Highway 101, Encinitas 92024
What: The Cardiff Kook Run 5K, 10K and Costume Contest is a celebration of one of San Diego’s most exciting beach communities, Encinitas! The course starts under the world famous “Encinitas” sign on historic HWY 101 in beautiful Encinitas, California. This scenic loop passes by the famous “Cardiff Kook” statue (The Magic Carpet Ride), rises above some of the most popular surf breaks in the world and heads down to Cardiff State Beach to finish off. The 10k starts at 7:35am and the 5k starts at 8am.
