More beautiful weather and awesome events are on the way for San Diego this weekend! From a super colorful 5k and festival to stargazing and a sci-fi convention, we’ve got you covered on where to be. Check out our top five San Diego weekend events and start planning! As always, please be sure to check ticket availability prior to attending any event. 

Color FunFest 5K

When: Saturday Feb 27
Where:  Sleep Train Ampitheater; 2050 Entertainment Circle, Chula Vista
What: Color Fun Fest 5K brings the Holi Festival and the electric dance movement together for the first time with a day and night glowing color 5k run! Run or walk through colorful stations where 10,000+ pounds of colorful food-grade cornstarch transforms the crowd into a vibrant rainbow. As night approaches, the event will power up the black lights and transition into a nighttime glowing color festival called Color Fun Fest – complete with live DJs, vendors, and food. Tickets start at $25.

Star Party at Mission Trails Park

When: Saturday Feb 27, 5:30pm-8:30pm
Where: Mission Trails Regional Park; 1 Father Junipero Serra Trail, San Diego 92119
What: Stargaze at Mission Trails Regional Park with park guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga. The group will meet at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground’s Day Use Parking Lot. A telescope will be provided to view the nighttime sky (no lanterns or white-light flashlights permitted). The Orion Nebula, the Little Beehive Cluster, Open Clusters in Auriga and the Crab Nebula will all be well-positioned this night for viewing. Skies are supposed to be clear all weekend, so head out to this if you love stargazing!

Intercultural Music Conference & Concerts

When: Saturday Feb 26 – Sunday Feb 28
Where: Conrad Prebys Music Center; UCSD, La Jolla 92037
What: Intercultural music from across the Americas, Asia and Europe will come together at this conference, featuring more than 50 musicians and scholars from more than 15 countries. The conference features three free concerts and eight discussion panels. The Saturday night concert will feature award-winning percussion ensemble Red Fish Blue Fish, led by Professor Steven Schick. ConDor Con 2016

When: Friday Feb 26 – Sunday Feb 28
Where: Town & Country Resort; 500 Hotel Circle North, San Diego 92108
What: The longest running fantasy and science fiction convention in San Diego returns for its 23rd year this weekend. While still remaining intimate and smaller than other typical conventions, ConDor brings in authors, agents, and panelists to discuss their work, as well as TV shows, costumes, dealers, artists, actors, games, RPGA, dances, concerts, Steampunk, Dr. Who, ConDor Academy and Harry Potter programming. There’s a lot to see and do and only 3 days to do it all! 

Electric Bike Expo 2016

When: Sunday Feb 28, 9am-4pm
Where: Liberty Station; 2750 Dewey Road, San Diego
What: Test ride more than 80 different models of the latest electric bikes from 18 brands at this Electric Bike Expo! The expo will highlight a wide range of bicycles, including beach cruisers, street commuters, mountain, and cargo bikes. The event runs from 9am-8pm on Saturday and 9am-4pm Sunday. Many of the models are brand new to the US and here to be tested for the very first time! If you register ahead of time, you’ll be entered to win prizes, including shirts, and you’ll have VIP access to the test ride track.
