What: Usher in the Lunar New Year at the 5th Annual Red Ball at The Fairmont Grand Del Mar Resort! The Year of the Monkey recurs once every twelve years in the Lunar calendar, and symbolizes optimism, ambition and adventure. At this coveted 21 & up celebration, invited guests will enjoy “Lucky Happy Hour” from 4-7pm, live music by The Mighty Untouchables, live sets by DJ Mike White, a traditional lion dance and much more. What: This two-day festival will feature whale watching at the recently re-designed Whale Watch and Kelp Forest Overlook and exhibitors from a variety of organizations that support ocean conservation. The weekend will include marine awareness, whale watching lectures on federal and state agencies that protect our oceans, tidepool exploration, ranger programs on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and interactive storytelling for children about the creation of the tides.

What: The iconic Harlem Globetrotters are coming to Valley View Casino Center in San Diego with their most epic tour in history, as the world famous team celebrates its 90th anniversary world tour. A star-studded roster will have fans on the edge of their seats to witness the ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that thrills fans of all ages.

Where: San Diego Hall of Champions; 2131 Pan American Plaza, San Diego 92101
What: Sample some amazing brews from over 40 breweries throughout the night while you listen to great live music! The San Diego Winter Brew Fest will celebrate craft beverages from around California and beyond and features; live local music, food, and other vendors. This event benefits Outdoor Outreach and the San Diego Mountain Biking Association (SDMBA). General Admission tickets are $40 advance/$50 day of event.
When: Saturday Feb 20, 9am-1pm
Where: San Diego Botanic Garden; 230 Quail Gardens Dr., Encinitas 92024
What: Once each year Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) and the San Diego Botanic Garden team up to raise funds that support people, plants, and animals. Walkers can cover the full 3.1 mile course, but that’s optional and the walk is not competitive. There will be pet products, food (for people), treats (for dogs), information and displays for animal lovers, a pet first aid station, and (of course) dogs! Registered walkers will have full access to San Diego Botanic Garden until 2pm.
