Here’s a look at what’s going going on in San Diego this weekend – from the holiday Pet Parade in the Gaslamp Quarter to the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights, holiday action is in full swing. Don’t miss out on these seven San Diego weekend events!

1. La Mesa’s Christmas in the Village

When: Friday Dec 12, 5pm-10pm
Where: La Mesa Blvd & Spring St, La Mesa 91941
What: Check out La Mesa Village as it transforms into a Victorian Wonderland – and a perfect place for holiday shopping! Guests will enjoy strolling minstrels; carolers and street entertainers; and food and commercial vendors. Live music will be featured in a number of stage areas and bonfires will fill the Boulevard. The kids will love Santa, carnival rides, ponies, and various puppet shows. All specialty shops, boutiques and restaurants will be open later than normal business hours.

2. Handmade Holiday at the San Diego Central Library

When: Saturday Dec 13, 9:30am-4pm
Where: San Diego Central Library; 330 Park Blvd, San Diego 92101
What: Join The Library for a day of family fun and holiday shopping! Buy locally, handmade artist goods from over 30 artisans; enjoy live music curated by Rarefied Recording; children’s craft workshops with Rare Hare Studio; and a special appearance by the Grinch during this community event! Sponsored by “The Friends of the San Diego Central Library,” a member-supported nonprofit organization that advocates, fundraises, and provides critical support for The Central Library.

3. Oceanside Harbor Parade of Lights

When: Saturday Dec 13, 7pm-9pm
Where: Oceanside Harbor
What: Don’t miss this annual north county parade of lights! From 7-9pm, fishing boats, sail boats, yachts, kayaks and dingys dressed in extravagant holiday swag will circle the Oceanside Harbor to wow onlookers at the harbor, restaurants and beach. One of the best viewing spots is along the side of the Oceanside Harbor near the fishing dock and police station, or on the concrete walkway that surrounds most of the harbor.

4. Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade

When: Sunday Dec 14, 3pm-5pm
Where: Starts at Hilton Gaslamp Park- 401 K St, San Diego 92101
What: Pet owners and their furry, feathered, and scaled companions are invited to don their favorite costumes for this jolly promenade and pet expo, which starts and ends at Hilton Gaslamp Park at Fourth Avenue & K Street. The Parade leaves at 3pm and continues under the Gaslamp Quarter Archway through the historic streets of the district, as festively-attired critters compete for prizes in various contest categories. The tinseled procession then returns to Hilton Park, where participants can explore the Pet Expo (free and open to the public from 1pm to 5pm) and pick up their complimentary goodie bag.

5. San Diego Bay Parade of Lights

When: Sunday Dec 14, 5:30pm-9pm
Where: Embarcadero Marina Park South; Marina Park Way, San Diego 92101
What: The 43rd Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights will be this Sunday until 9pm. Over 80,000 spectators will enjoy the show as more than 80 vessels take to the water decked out in their best holiday décor. The Parade proceeds from Shelter Island past Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, and Ferry Landing in Coronado. This year’s theme is “Children’s Stories,” so there should be some especially entertaining boats floating around!

6. Pacific Beach Holiday Parade

When: Saturday, December 13
Where: Pacific Beach

7. ‘Holiday in the Park’ at Old Town San Diego

When: December 13-14
Where: Old Town San Diego State Historic Park
