Where: Old Town San Diego State Historic Park
What: Old Town San Diego State Historic Park will be decked out in historic holiday finery this year and will showcase gingerbread house displays throughout the park as well as a tree-lighting ceremony with caroling starting at 5 p.m. every Saturday in the month of December. The annual Holiday in the Park Merchant Open House will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12; enjoy crafts for children and special holiday treats in the museums, plus many stores and restaurants in Old Town San Diego will extend their shopping hours until 9pm.

Where: Garnet Avenue, Pacific Beach
What: Discover PB presents its annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade along one of the busiest streets in Pacific Beach. Thousands of spectators will get to enjoy floats, school marching bands, color guards, children’s marching groups, clowns, and of course, Santa Claus! This years’ theme will be A Beachin’ Holiday. Where: Shelter Island through Ferry Landing, San Diego
What: The San Diego Bay Parade of Lights is a time-honored holiday tradition brought to San Diego by the boating community. Join us this December for our annual Parade on San Diego Bay, with more than 80 boats lavishly decorated according to a new theme each year. The San Diego Bay Parade of Lights is held two consecutive Sundays each year in December. The Parade proceeds from Shelter Island past Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, and Ferry Landing in Coronado.

Where: MLK Promenade Park; 401 K Street, San Diego 92101
What: Deck those paws with bells so jolly and jingle all the way through the Gaslamp Quarter for the Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade! Pet owners and their furry, feathered, and scaled companions are invited to don their favorite costumes for this jolly promenade and pet expo on Sunday at MLK Promenade Park, adjacent to the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. Entry to participate in the Pet Parade is just $15 in advance per pet, $20 on the day of the event.

What: Spend a night underneath the stars during Liberty Station’s holiday-themed family movie night! Round up the kids, grab a blanket, and head to the North Promenade Pump House, where holiday classic Home Alone will be playing on the outdoor big screen on Sunday, December 13th. Nab a spot on the lawn an hour early with the Surfin’ Santa band serenading holiday moviegoers before the screening. Specialty food items, hot cocoa and popcorn will also be available during the showing.
