Another beautiful weekend is headed our way! From eats and drinks by the bay to the highly anticipated $1M Pacific Classic at the Del Mar Racetrack, there’s a lot going on in America’s Finest City. Where: Del Mar Racetrack
What: Del Mar’s richest and most prestigious race, the $1M Pacific Classic, is this weekend! Watch the country’s top horses compete in the 26th running of Del Mar’s signature event. Plus – beer aficionados will enjoy the opportunity to sample from more than 100 different brews paired with delicious pizza offerings, including hard-to-find specialty choices to top-rated favorites from the local brewing scene at the Pizza & Beer Festival, which goes from 1-6pm. Admission is free with Race admission; five 7-oz. tastings are $20.

What: Enjoy live local bands performing on three different stages, art, food, and plenty of outdoor activities – including free kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and fishing. Take an exciting ride on the Vietnam-era Swift Boat or tour the bay on the amphibious SEAL Bus. The “Tacos & Spirits Fest” will feature the best local tacos, with chefs competing for your vote! Discover regional specialties among the wine, craft spirits and beer tastings.

Where: Old Town San Diego State Historic Park
What: Twainfest, produced by WriteOutLoud, is a free celebration of Mark Twain and other writers of the 19th century – perfect for the literature lovers in your life. Hear works by Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Edgar Allan Poe and others, read aloud by local San Diego actors. Plus, there will be sack races, ring toss, marbles and other games from the period that will be played on the green.

Where: Contemporary Fine Arts Gallery La Jolla; 7946 Ivanhoe Ave, La Jolla
What: Presenting new original works by Stephanie Paige, Alison Haley Paul and Ben Hecht, the Contemporary Fine Arts Gallery will host an opening reception this Saturday evening. These three California-based artists present a diverse collection of mixed media works that showcase our beautiful California coast.

Where: Cabrillo National Monument
What: The 39th Annual America’s Finest City Half Marathon is run on a fast, scenic, point-to-point course. The race starts at the historic Cabrillo National Monument at the tip of Point Loma with its world-renowned vistas of San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean, follows scenic San Diego Bay and Harbor Island along the Embarcadero to the Star of India, winds through downtown San Diego and finishes in beautiful Balboa Park.
