From the 27th annual Earth Fair in Balboa Park to the celebrated Avocado Festival and Days of Art in Oceanside, these San Diego weekend events aren’t ones you’ll want to miss! Where: 5th Ave & University Ave, San Diego
What: With a wide selection of establishments to choose from, Taste of Hillcrest will feature over 35 restaurants specializing in different types of international cuisines. Treat yourself to comfort foods and delicacies from countries around the world. Don’t forget to check out the iconic Hillcrest art murals while you enjoy delicious cuisine! Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 the day of and get you one samples ( food, drink or both ) at each location.

Where: 6550 Mira Mesa Blvd, San Diego 92121
What: Join Green Flash at Cellar 3 for a hands-on workshop to learn how to ferment your own foods and go in-depth on barrel-aging beer. Learn about the history of fermented foods, the reasons why you should be fermenting food at home, and the basic techniques, tips and tricks for fermenting vegetables. Then take a tour of the facility as 3 tasters showing bacterial/yeast examples. All participants will take home a quart-sized mason jar to ferment!

What: Oceanside Days of Art is a juried fine art festival featuring up to 100 local artists selling a variety of unique artwork – paintings, sculptures, stained glass, ceramics, fine jewelry, photography and more. The festival (which is free!) will have live stage performances, children’s and adult’s hands on art activities, street chalk artist, painting and sculpture demonstrations, and a delicious variety of food choices in the food court.

Where: Balboa Park
What: The annual EarthFair in Balboa Park is the largest free annual environmental fair in the world. Produced by 400 volunteers, EarthFair 2016 will feature more than 300 exhibitors, special theme areas, a Food Pavilion, a special Children’s Activity Area, five different entertainment venues, the Children’s Earth Parade, the eARTh Gallery art show, and the Cleaner Car Concourse. Don’t miss the chance to celebrate our earth at this awesome celebration.
When: Sunday Apr 17, 9am-5pm
Where: E Alvarado St & S Main Ave, Fallbrook 92028
What: Join thousands of avocado lovers in Fallbrook to sample avocados, check out the crazy cooking contest entries, buy funky avocado-themed gifts and enjoy bands, live entertainment and friendly beer gardens! Colorful booths will feature unique clothing, hats, arts, crafts, jewelry, and farm-fresh produce for purchase. A variety of bands and other live entertainment are offered for the pleasure of festival-goers. Admission is free!
