The 23rd San Diego Latino Film Festival, presented by Fashion Valley, returns March 10 – March 20th with over 165 films, parties, filmmaker workshops and more! See Latino-made films from all over the world including the latest from the likes of Gael Garcia Bernal, Salma Hayek, Rosario Dawson, and Jaime Camil.
The San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF) began in 1994 when students from SDSU, UCSD, and other San Diego colleges teamed up to recognize the presence of Latino creators in film. Since then, the festival has continued to grow and diversify, constantly adding new showcases and film programs. Film screenings will be held at AMC Fashion Valley and Media Arts Center’s Digital Gym Cinema in North Park. This year, don’t miss Salma Hayek’s performance in Tale of Tales as part of the Un Mundo Extraño showcase!
SDLFF Parties and Events
The experience kicks off with the March 10th SDLFF Opening Party and Concert! The Grammy-nominated band Los Amigos Invisibles will headline at Music Box San Diego. For those seeing an Opening Night Movie at AMC Fashion Valley 18, transportation will be provided by Five Star Tours back and forth from AMC to Music Box San Diego. Enjoy drinks, music, and celebrity-spotting at the red carpet. Grab tickets now at $40 per person. All proceeds benefit Media Arts Center San Diego’s Youth Media Scholarships.
New this year is Sabor Latino Beer & Wine Fest a food and drink fest taking place on Saturday March 19th. Enjoy a stimulating afternoon of curated wines and beers selected from wineries and breweries throughout Baja California and San Diego. Mix and mingle amongst celebrities with gourmet bites made by distinguished local and Baja California chefs from 1 pm on. Tickets can be purchased here.

The San Diego Latino Film Festival will show approximately 165 films this year, with a broad range of formats, subjects, and perspectives. View the festival’s complete film schedule here. While waiting between films, catch a daily musical performance at Sonido Latino at Fashion Valley Mall! Often, multiple showings of each film are available. Film categories are searchable by Title, Date of Showing, Country of Production or Genre, as well as by showcase collection.
