San Diego and La Jolla Weekend Events: July 20th & 21st

The weather is perfect, this first weekend of summer is packed with events. So what are you waiting for? Make your plans now! There’s something for everyone!


Saturday, July 20th: 

San Diego Comic-Con International: Day 3
9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., San Diego Convention Center
The third day of Comic-Con will boast a jam-packed schedule of events that includes a mystery “Marvel” panel, a trove of superhero events, and so much more. Each year, the Saturday of Comic-Con is typically considered the biggest day of the expo in downtown San Diego, and a day when fans can expect to see a lot of celebrities making their rounds around the event.

Patio Plays in the Park: ‘The Wizard of Oz’
8 p.m., Kit Carson Amphitheater in Escondido
L. Frank Baum’s classic tale, “The Wizard of Oz” takes the center stage for the next few weeks at Kit Carson Amphitheater in Escondido, running Thursdays through Sundays through July 27. The play starts at 8 p.m. each night it’s on, including this Saturday; general admission tickets can be purchased online starting at $25.

Sunday, July 7th:

Gaslamp Artisan Market
10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Fifth Avenue

Guided Nature Walk
9:30 a.m., Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center
It’s going to be a beautiful weekend to get outside! Take a free guided 1.5 hour nature walk from Mission Trails Regional Park. Along the way you’ll learn about animals, plants, and history of this park in San Diego.
