We got an unexpected visit here at Blue Book Headquarters from Angela and Anthony, the bright young entrepreneurs behind Palm Tree Treats. Originally from DC, these polite elementary school kids started a summer business back in July, selling home-made ‘cheese-cake on a stick’ treats around the greater San Diego area. They’ve been to Pacific Beach, Downtown, Coronado and Del Mar, selling their wares with a little help from their supportive Dad.
According to Tu, our resident dessert connoisseur, the cheesecake is top-quality merchandise and well-worth the reasonable price tag of $6. We were really impressed to learn that Angela and Anthony are responsible for managing the production and budget of their business. According to their mission statement, “Palm Tree Treats is a children’s operated entity that teaches the fundamentals of owning and operating a small business. The company’s goal is to provide San Diego’s finest chocolate fudge cheese cake to the dessert eating public!”
To catch up with them before schools starts again, you can check out their Facebook Page or flag them down in public – preferably before their stock has sold out.
Have a great weekend everyone. Don’t forget to check out our Event Calendar if you’re looking for something fun to do.
