Can you believe it? Summertime is in full swing and it’s a great occasion to get off the couch, out from behind that desk, and get outside and enjoy La Jolla! Sure, La Jolla is known for its beaches, but certainly that doesn’t mean you have to go to the beach to get some fresh air. Here’s some outdoor activities that don’t involve getting your toes caked with sand.
Hot Air Balloon
Aside from the Wizard of Oz who explained it perfectly (although in Kanss), a veritable plethora of people have attempted to describe the sense of drifting through the ever sunny skies in a San Diego hot air balloon. Have you ever heard of the Balloonist’s Prayer? It simply defines the sport as a spiritual experience: one connecting with the sun, the wind and Mother Earth. It’s quite an enchanted event, a vast and free-floating excursion in the beautiful early morning sunrise or stunning evening sunset. Hot air balloonists in San Diego typically glide over San Diego beaches, lagoons, canyons and parks, suspended over strands of clouds, foam-covered white caps in the gleaming Pacific, and of course uninterrupted expanses of California coastline and plush, green valleys below. Why not give it a try and experience the thrill of a lifetime and get some truly fresh air while you’re at it?
The Coronado Ferry
The Coronado Ferry schedule is clear-cut and simple to read and comprehend. Beginning at 9 a.m. each and every day, the Coronado Ferry leaves the San Diego Broadway Pier on the hour and journeys across San Diego Bay to allow its passengers to alight in the ever attractive city of Coronado at the Old Coronado Ferry Landing, a specialty shopping center. The last ferry to Coronado leaves at 9 p.m. Sunday through Monday, and at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. If you’re looking to spend the day in Coronado, be advised that return trips leave on the half hour. Sweet, right? Coronado Ferry tickets cost a mere $4.25 for a one way cruise, or $8.50 for a round trip. One of the benefits of riding the ferry is that you can bring your bicycle with you for no additional fee, that is, if you desire to sightsee Coronado beaches and various other attractions in that manner. For additional information concerning the Coronado Ferry, Coronado Ferry Landing and ticket information, simply call (619) 234-4111. You’ll be in for a treat!

Fore! Golfing in La Jolla
Golfing during the summer in San Diego, much like holiday golfing, has a distinct essence of its own. Many tourists and business travelers invade San Diego for a taste of our desirable climate, and they also head to San Diego golf courses, especially those located on the coast. Unfortunately, golfing in most cities during the summer typically means there are no available tee times and so many of mosquitoes Monsanto couldn’t knock ‘em out. However, this is far from true for San Diego golfers. Here in charming San Diego County, there are more than 25 public or semi-private golf courses. Consequently, golf aficionados can get on those greens whatever time of the season.
The following list of San Diego golf courses includes useful information (facts, figures and fees) to help you decide where to play your next round of golf in San Diego. Check it out HERE
