Museum Month is back in San Diego County for its’ 25th year! This extremely popular month long event enables residents to enjoy many local museums for half-off. There are 44 San Diego museums, spread across the county, that participate in the event. Museum Month was started by the San Diego Museum Council in 1989 as a way to draw thousands of visitors to San Diego’s museums, historical sites, and cultural centers. In addition, the reduced price attracts local residents to explore the many educational offerings that San Diego has.
Museum passes are available to pick up at one of the fourteen Macy’s locations in the San Diego Area. Museum passes are free to pick up while supplies last. With the museum pass, up to four guest can enjoy half-price admission to any of the 44 participating museums. The best part is that the pass can be used for the entire month of February! Museums featured in the event include the Birch Aquarium at Scripps, the California Surf Museum, the Japanese Friendship Garden, the La Jolla Historical Society, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (La Jolla), the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, the San Diego Air & Space Museum, The New Children’s Museum, the USS Midway Museum, the Whaley House Museum, and many more.
