Having a hard time planning a romantic and unique Valentine’s Day? Well you’re in luck! We’ve discovered one of the most romantic date ideas that will earn you major brownie points! Surprise your special Valentine this year with an exclusive Pop Up Picnic along the beautiful shoreline of La Jolla.
Here’s how Pop Up Picnic works: You chose the date, time, location – and you’re done! Lauren Sharon, owner of Pop Up Picnic and Lauren Sharon Vintage Shop, takes care of everything for you. Lauren will create a vintage inspired picnic at a location of your choice. Design choices include a rustic table, candles, dining chairs with the addition of an extravagant chandelier, upholstered sofa, and candle walk way. Customize your picnic to fit what you’re looking for! Lauren will bring everything from the table settings, to food and drinks. Pop Up Picnic’s motto, “We do the work, you take the credit”, says it all!
Lauren has teamed up with local restaurants to help create a special menu featuring an array of hors d’oeuvres. Items include a charcuterie board of artisanal meats and cheeses, assorted seasonal fruits, and fresh baked bread from Venissimo Cheese shop. For dessert, enjoy a cake-in-a-jar made exclusively by Cupcakery. Beverages include a bottle of sparkling wine and an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages.
Why is La Jolla the best location for a picnic? Lauren says La Jolla is a desired location because of its natural beauty, various seaside locations, and convenience. The most popular spots include Cuvier Park, Shell Beach, the Torrey Pines Gliderport, secluded parks in Bird Rock, and Mt. Soledad. Pop Up Picnic is available all over San Diego not just La Jolla. Lauren has designed special picnics on top of Cowles Mountain in East County and various parts of Balboa Park.
How Pop Up Picnic started: Lauren, who also owns Lauren Sharon Vintage Shop, a vintage furniture, decor, and lighting design rentals, started selling a few vintage decor items online. After accumulating a wide array of furniture, Lauren came up with the idea of using her furniture to create an instant date night. Pop Up Picnic will be celebrating its one year anniversary this Valentine’s Day!
Cost: Pop Up Picnic Packages start at $145 and are customizable from that point. The Original Pop Up Picnic is $145 and includes a tapas-style meal for two, dessert, drinks, vintage ambiance including plates, napkins, flatware, serving pieces, ice, and bottle opener in an ideal location.
The Midsummer’s Night Dream Pop Up Picnic is $245, includes all of the amenities of The Original, and takes the ambiance to a whole new level. This package includes a larger table (so you can sit side-by-side), an antique ironwork gazebo, lanterns, a charming five-arm chandelier, a bohemian rug, and your choice of vintage folding chairs or a bench.
Each picnic is customized and based on your ideas. Lauren believes nothing is too big when it comes to planning a special evening filled with romance.
How do you get started? Contact Lauren by calling 760-445-2098 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. She will walk you through the rest of the planning process and will help you create the Valentine’s Day picnic of your dreams.
