Miramar Air Show Taking Off In Spite Of Budget Cuts

UPDATE: Due to the government shutdown, this event has been canceled.

The infamous sounds, sights, and breath taking displays of the world famous Miramar Air Show are returning again this October. Look forward to the loud jet sounds taking over the San Diego skies and of course the expected traffic to hit the golden triangle area. The air show is set to take place October 4-5, with gates opening at 10:00AM daily. The iconic Twilight show is taking place Saturday evening starting at 6:45PM. Some differences that you will notice this year is the Blue Angels not making their annual appearance due to government budget cuts. The Patriots will be taking over as the headlining act. The six ship air team will be preforming as part of the Civilian Aerial Highlights at 12:15PM both days. Other alterations include the usual three day event being compressed down to two days, and all Military pilots and aircraft will be grounded. Hence, the “Civilian” Aerial Highlights show. Annual performers include the Red Bull Helo, the “Oracle Challenger”, and the B-25J Executive Sweet.

Admission and parking are free to the public, so make sure you take advantage of this opportunity to see some of Aviation’s finest! Visit the Miramar Air Show website for more information and for a complete schedule.
