While the seats are wider than your typical movie theater, they are just not the reclining seats that moviegoers have come to expect from “luxury” theaters. Tickets start at $15.50 and can be purchased online ($1 fee), Arclight app, or kiosk. Amenities include:

This brand new 12-screen movie theater opened in late 2014 as part of the Westfield Plaza Camino Real’s $300-million renovation expected to be completed by 2016. The multiplex boasts comfy recliners and hopes to serve alcohol soon. Tickets start at $12 for regular showtimes or catch a matinee for $10. Purchase tickets online (fandango), Regal app, or box office. Amenities include:

UltraStar, located off the 163 freeway in the bottom section of the Hazard Center, may not exactly be “luxury” but we do love their upgraded reclining leather seats. Have we mentioned that they have the best ticket prices in San Diego? Tickets are just $8 for regular showtimes, $6 for a matinee, and $10.50 for 3-D movies. Also, check out their Sunday student special: all students (valid Student ID) receive one movie ticket (no restrictions), and bottomless popcorn & soda for only $10! Amenities include:

Angelika Film Center & Cafe made its west coast debut October 2015 in San Diego. This state-of-the-art luxury cinema is located at Carmel Mountain Plaza in San Diego. Each of the 12 auditoriums feature full-recliner luxury seats in a stadium setting, digital projection by Barco, Dolby 7.1 audio, and reserved seating. Tickets start at $14 for adults and $12 for children.
