Michael Cunningham at Warwick’s

What: Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Hours, Michael Cunningham, will discuss and sign his new novel The Snow Queen at Warwick’s on Friday, May 16th at 7:30pm. The Snow Queen is beautiful and heartbreaking and comic as well as tragic – proving that Cunningham is one of the great novelists of his generation.Reserved seating is available. Secret Garden Tour of La Jolla
Where: Wisteria Cottage
What: Stroll behind the garden gates of some of La Jolla’s loveliest, secluded gardens that are normally concealed from view by strategic growth of mature trees, vines or foliage. The locations are kept secret and only revealed in the program distributed the day of the actual tour. For ticket prices and information visit lajollahistory.org.
North Park Festival of the Arts
When: Saturday May 17, 11am – 8pm
Where: 3076 University Ave, North Park
What: This annual FREE festival has grown into an awesome local tradition, including local art, live music and dance performances, eco-friendly activities, vendor booths and fabulous food. All proceeds benefit North Park Main Street, the non-profit committed to the revitalization of the North Park Business Improvement District.
Art Museum Day
Where: MCASD La Jolla, 700 Prospect St, La Jolla, CA 92037
What: MCASD (both locations) will be providing free admission to celebrate Art Museum Day, an annual celebration when over one hundred museums across the nation offer discounts and activities. In addition to free admission, guests will enjoy guided tours at 2 and 4 PM, family friendly art-making activities in the beautiful Sculpture Garden overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and a Made X Design Market in Axline Court featuring some of their most notable makers and designers.
Makua’s Vintage Hollywood: Benefitting Voices for Children
When: Sunday May 18, 4pm – 10pm
Where: The Marine Room, 2000 Spindrift Drive, 92037
What: Makua’s 61st annual dinner/dance will be held on May 18th to benefit Voices for Children, a nonprofit organization that transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing them with volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs).
