La Jolla Weekend Events June 27- July 29

The weekend is upon us again with excellent summer weather in the forecast! There’s plenty of things happening in and around La Jolla. In particular, check out our neighbors to the south, OB and the Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-off this Saturday. Going to Balboa park this Sunday? Stop by the International Cottages and catch a lawn program featuring Argentina. Taste some great food and watch a traditional performance for free! Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off

What: The 35th Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off Festival will offer attendees eclectic fun in the sun that’s great for all ages. Join more than 70,000 visitors 8 for tasty festival nosh, art, beachfront entertainment, shopping and more. The chili competition will feature more than two dozen tastings from amateur entrants competing for the titles of Hottest Chili, Judges’ Award and Grand Prize: People’s Choice Award.
When: Saturday June 28, 2014. 10am-8pm

The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum: Open Cockpit Days at Miramar

What: Sit in the cockpit and feel like a real pilot! Take your little kids – and big kids – to enjoy a free day out in the sun. Admission is free.
When: Date: June 28 – 29, 2014. 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Where: Miramar Rd between the 805 and the 15.

Oceanside Independence Day Parade

What: Join us for the annual Independence Day Parade as it makes it way north on Coast Highway from Wisconsin Avenue to Civic Center Drive (just past City Hall). Come see floats, bands, walking groups, cool cars and much more. Our theme this year is “Show Your Pride, Oceanside!”
When: June 28th from 10am to noon.
Where: South Coast Hwy in Oceanside, CA.

House of Pacific Relations Sunday Lawn Programs: Argentina

What: The entertainment for this occasion is provided by some professional Tango and Folklore dancers. They show that Tango dancing is not just a social form of dance, but an art that requires talent and training.
When: June 29th from 2pm-3pm.
Where: House of Pacific Relations at Balboa Park

2014 San Diego County Fair

What: This is the second to last week at the fair so don’t miss out! This weekend’s Grandstand Stage features: 10th Annual Gospel Festival featuring Fred Hammond on Saturday June 28th.

La Jolla Open Aire Market
