77th Annual Del Mar Races Kickoff Party
Where: The Grand Del Mar, 5300 Grand Del Mar Way, San Diego 92130
What: Join race enthusiasts, celebrity jockeys, equestrians and socialites in kicking off the 77th Del Mar Track Season, the most celebrated summer sensation of San Diego! To stylishly kickoff the season, you are invited to come clad in dressy attire and celebrate in true race revelry on Friday, July 11. Happy hour starts at 4pm so come early to mingle and be sure to wear your best “Turf Club” attire for a chance to win best dressed prizes.
Full Moon Pier Walk
Where: Meet at the Birch Aquarium, 2300 Expedition Way, La Jolla 92037
What: A warm night lit by a full moon is the perfect time to explore one of La Jolla’s most prominent landmarks. Get the chance to walk along the entire 1,090-foot Ellen Browning Scripps pier while aquarium naturalists teach you about the history of Scripps Oceanography and current research projects.
Neon DASH 2014
Where: Qualcomm Stadium, 9449 Friars Road, San Diego 92108
What: Join thousands in the brightest and most magical glowing 5k you’ve ever seen! Run, dance, jog or walk through 4 different Glow Zones, where we’ll cover you in our own Super Intense Ultra-violet Neon.
2014 Over the Line Tournament
When: July 12 & 13, 7:30am-6pm
Where: Fiesta Island, Mission Bay Park, San Diego
What: Experience San Diego’s original World Championship Over-the-Line Tournament! Players and spectators will gather for two consecutive weekends filled with sport and fun in the sun. Over the Line (OTL) is a bat and ball game played with 2 teams of 3 players each; play is from 7:30am to dusk.
Ballast Point 18th Anniversary Beer Festival
Where: Maritime Museum of San Diego- 492 North Harbor Drive, Embarcadero San Diego
What: Walk aboard the Star of India, the Berkeley ferry, and all of the museum’s historic vessels and sample beers at 9 different locations throughout the ships and museum. 50 Ballast Point beers will be featured, including some rare and limited options. Tickets are $40 per person.
