A free movie, gourmet cooking class and more are happening this week. It’s the first full week of Spring and it’s the perfect time to take advantage of all the fun events. Here is a look at La Jolla’s week ahead:
Free Movies and Popcorn
What: La Jolla/Riford Library will host a free showing of the movie Enough Said starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, James Gandolfini and Toni Collette. Popcorn will be provided!
When: 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25.
Where: La Jolla/Riford Library, 7555 Draper Ave., La Jolla.
Cooking with Barleyanfigs’ Chef Sofi
What: Learn how to cook traditional Greek food at a gourmet cooking class featuring famous Chef Sofi Coss. Seating is limited. Cost is $35 for members and $40 for non-members.
When: 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26.
Where: La Jolla Community Center, 6811 La Jolla Blvd., La Jolla.
The Vatican Diaries Book Signing & Discussion
What: University of San Diego’s College of Art and Sciences and Warwick’s will host a book signing and discussion with John Thavis. Thavis will showcase his book The Vatican Diaries: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Power, Personalities and Politics at the Heart of the Catholic Church. Ticket info is available online.
When: 7-10 p.m. on Thursday, March 27.
Where: Shiley, 5998 Alcala Park, San Diego.
La Jolla Music Society Presents Mitsuko Uchida
What: The La Jolla Music Society presents an evening with world-renowned concert pianist Mitsuko Uchida. The night will begin with a Sonata by Schubert and end with Beethoven.
When: 7-10 p.m. on Friday, March 28.
Where: MCASD La Jolla’s Sherwood Auditorium, 700 Prospect St., La Jolla.
