Kate Payne and the “Hip Girls’ Guide to the Kitchen”

What: DIY guru and author Kate Payne will be at Warwick’s on Tuesday to discuss and sign The Hip Girls Guide to the Kitchen. The author of The Hip Girl’s Guide to Homemaking turns her focus to the kitchen; releasing The Hip Girl’s Guide to the Kitchen this May, she shares her thrifty tips on how to creatively run your kitchen for efficient, healthy, and homemade meals and snacks at the ever-ready.


Free Movie at the Pearl Hotel

Where: EAT Restaurant at the Pearl Hotel, 1410 Rosecrans St., San Diego 92106

What: The Pearl Hotel presents “Dive-In Theatre,” a free cinema social combining eclectic film choices, food and drink, and light conversation. The event takes place at EAT at The Pearl’s poolside lounge and theater located outdoors and connected to the action inside the exciting eatery/bar/lounge. This week’s showing will be “Four Weddings and a Funeral” from 1994. All showings start at 8:00pm. Early arrival is suggested; seating is first come, first serve.

Hopfest at the Museum: A Beer Tasting

Where: Museum of Man at Balboa Park, 1350 El Prado, San Diego 92101

What: Tour the San Diego Museum of Man’s newest exhibit, BEERology, and experience Hopfest! Celebrate the hoppy goodness of beer while exploring the role of hops in the brewing process. Join the Museum and local craft breweries for an exciting evening, including craft beer samples and food tastings. 

Who Dunnit? Gaslamp Murder Mystery Adventure

When: Friday June 20, 7:30pm-9:30pm

Where: Dick’s Last Resort, 345 4th Avenue San Diego, 92101

mlWhat: Spend a fun Friday solving a mystery! Who Dunnit? Gaslamp is a scavenger hunt-style Murder Mystery Adventure that lasts approximately 2 hours. During the tour, you will visit several of the Gaslamp Quarter’s most popular destinations while solving a murder mystery. Hot on the heels of a killer through the streets of the Gaslamp Quarter, you will collect virtual clues and evidence. Along the way, you’ll crack codes, decipher riddles and participate in crazy challenges in order to successfully complete your mission.
